The lines that appear across your forehead (transverse forehead rhytids), between your brows (glabellar "frown" lines), and smile lines at the corners of your eyes and on your nose are actually the result of muscle movement beneath the skin and the steady passage of time. As you make facial expressions throughout your normal day, your facial muscles contract, causing the overlying skin to wrinkle. This is quite apparent when most people frown, emphasizing the glabellar frown lines between your eyes.

Over time this continual wrinkling of the muscles causes facial lines to stay longer and become more pronounced. For women, whose faces tend to be more animated than men's and whose skin is typically more delicate, these lines may appear exaggerated and become "permanent".

BOTOX® is a simple, nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment that can improve, and in some cases completely erase mild to moderate wrinkles. Injectable Fillers Philadelphia

Facial fillers such as Restylane, Radiesse, Perlane, and Juvederm are naturally occurring gels that are injected into the skin as a "filler" in order to add volume to aging skin, lips and to lift up wrinkles and folds.

The procedure consists of injecting the filler directly into your skin in small amounts by an ultrafine needle. As with all injections, some patients may experience discomfort. Dermaplaning/ Dermabrasion Philadelphia

Dermaplaning is a manual method of peeling the skin. It is a skin resurfacing procedure that uses a special surgical blade to gently plane or lightly scrape away the top, dead, dull layer of epidermal cells. This process is also called epidermal leveling. The controlled technique refines the skin, revealing a clear, smooth surface. The treatment is effective for most skin types. Dermabrasion remains the gold standard treatment for acne scarring, deeper scars and lines, sun damage, and significant skin aging. During the procedure, a special instrument with a rapidly rotating sanding disk scrapes away the skin's outer surface.

Dermabrasion is a minor surgical performed under local, sedation, or general anesthesia. Afterwards, your face will be red and raw. Healing may take between one and four weeks and discoloration may persist for up to a month. It is also important for you to avoid sun exposure for several months after your treatment.
